SUMMARY OF SERVICE GeneMapper®
An ABI 3730xl capillary instrument is used for fragment separation. There are 4 different filters available to accommodate your dye set: DYE SET | SIZE STANDARD DYE | 6-FAM™, HEX™, NED™ | ROX™ | 6-FAM™, VIC®, NED™ | ROX™ | 5-FAM™, JOE™, NED™ | ROX™ | 6-FAM™, VIC®, NED™, PET™ | LIZ® | The size standards available are ROX™-400HD, ROX™-500, LIZ®-500, LIZ®-1200, and MapMarker®-1000. ROX™-400HD has the following sizes: 50, 60, 90, 100, 120, 150, 160, 180, 190, 200, 220, 240, 260, 280, 290, 300, 320, 340, 360, 380, and 400. ROX™-500 has the following sizes: 35, 50, 75, 100, 139, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300, 340, 350, 400, 450, 490, and 500. LIZ®-500 has the following sizes: 35, 50, 75, 100, 139, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300, 340, 350, 400, 450, 490, and 500. MapMarker®-1000 has the following sizes: 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 475, 500, 550, 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850, 900, 950, and 1000. PRICES Submission of full fragments plates are available on the online ordering system we no longer offer a rate per well the NEW RATE is $186.88 per plate. BMGC is offering to run a test plate for samples for fragment on a six times a year basis, for details email bmgcseq@umn.edu. HOW TO ORDER What needs to be done to receive this service? ABI recommends pooling different dyes after your PCR reaction. Recommended volume per well is 10 ul. Prepare and submit samples in any 96 well plate with appropriate concentrations and the Fragment Analysis Request Form at a location listed below. Be sure to cover plate securely. If dropping off samples, please cover plate with cap strips (shipping) or plate tape (dropping off). To place an online order go to https://www.ahcs.umn.edu/bmgc/index.cfm. Results are in one format: sample files (.fsa). There are a few programs to view .fsa files: GeneMapper®, and PeakScanner™.
